[14:35-14:38] Sherneice shares that her daughter is the reason she left her father, emphasizing the need to protect her from witnessing and normalizing abuse. My daughter is the reason why I decided to leave her father. [14:39-14:53] Sherneice recounts a specific incident where her three-year-old daughter tried to help her after being hit by her father. Because I felt like if she stayed, she would feel that this is OK. She was 3 years old. I was down on the floor after he hit me. She tried to get off the bed to get me. [14:54-14:56] Sherneice reflects on the moment she decided to leave her husband, realizing she needed to protect her daughter. That right there was like, that's it. [14:57-15:07] Sherneice, on a TV show, explains her daughter was only 3 when she realized something was wrong and is now 23. She's 3 years old. She doesn't know no better. But she knows something is not right. So, with that being said, my daughter is now 23 years old. [15:08-15:12] Sherneice shares that her daughter also experienced abuse as a teenager. She got caught up with somebody, and he was doing that to her. [15:12-15:24] Sherneice mentions her daughter confided in her and later organized events and workshops to encourage youth to speak out against domestic violence. She finally came and said something to me. So, I had an event, whereas We wanted more of the youth to come out and speak up against domestic violence or tell us your story.
